Dr. Salahuddin Ahmed
Dr. Salahuddin Ahmed is a medical doctor and public health epidemiologist with more than 20 years of experience in designing and managing epidemiological studies, disease surveillance, monitoring and evaluation of public health programs. His research focuses on improving the health and nutritional status of newborns, children, and women in low-resource settings by enhancing the understanding of the major causes of neonatal, child, and maternal morbidity, mortality and malnutrition by designing and testing cost-effective public health interventions against them. The design and scope of his studies are diverse ranging from formative research to implementation research to randomized clinical trials. His researches also focus on the integration approach and health system strengthening in resource-poor settings.
He is currently serving as Executive Director of Projahnmo Research Foundation, Bangladesh. Before that, he worked as a Research Director at Johns Hopkins University – Bangladesh, Projahnmo. He also worked in CARE Bangladesh; Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Department of International Health; Jhpiego; Population Council; and Mitra and Associates. He is a member of the Integrated Management of Childhood Illness working group in Bangladesh.
Dr. Salahuddin Ahmed has published more than 70 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented his studies in many different international scientific conferences.
