Projahnmo Research Foundation Launches Scale-Up of WHO-Coordinated ACS-IR Study in Bangladesh

Projahnmo Research Foundation (PRF) successfully launched the scale-up phase of the WHO-coordinated Antenatal Corticosteroids and Small & Sick Newborn Care for Improving Preterm Newborn Outcomes (ACS-IR) study across eight districts of Bangladesh which are Faridpur, Tangail, Brahmanbaria, Kishoreganj, Noakhali, Cox’s Bazar, Moulvibazar, and Sylhet. The event held at La-Vita Hall, Lakeshore Hotel, Gulshan-2, Dhaka, on 16 November 2025 was chaired by Dr. Abu Hussain Md. Moinul Ahsan, Director (Hospital & Clinics) of DGHS. The event was attended by Dr. Ayesha De Costa, Scientist, WHO Geneva. Among others, Civil Surgeon, Hospital Director/Superintendant, Head of Gynaecology, Obstetrics, and Paediatrics department from the eight scale up districts, as well as the key stakeholders from national level such as DGHS, DGFP, WHO, , UNICEF, Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Bangladesh (OGSB), Bangladesh Neonatal Forum (BNF), Bangladesh Perinatal Society (BPS), Bangladesh Medical University (BMU), academia, researcher, NGOs, President, Executive Director and PRF staffs. Participants renewed their commitment to support for the implementation of the study, shared valuable insights, discussed practical solutions, and aligned collective efforts to strengthen preterm survival efforts of the country.
