Mrs. Tamanna Sharmin
Tamanna Sharmin is a medical anthropologist who has more than 25 years of professional experience and proven competency in the area of research and knowledge management. She Possess strong knowledge and understanding on Qualitative Research approach. Her researches focus on maternal and neonatal health, breast feeding, adolescent health, gender-based violence, infectious diseases such as TB, STI, HIV/AIDS etc. Her research also focuses on the health system strengthening in resource-poor setting such as using e-health and m-health to get health services near to home. She is currently serving as Manager, Qualitative Research of Projahnmo Research Foundation, Bangladesh. Before that she worked for Plan International Bangladesh as Manager, Research and Knowledge Management. She started her professional journey at International Centre for Diarrhoeal Research of Bangladesh (icddr,b) and ended up as Assistant Scientist over there. She obtain a Master’s degree in Reproductive & Sexual Health Research from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), London University, UK and another masters in Anthropology from Jahangir Nagar University, Savar, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
She has published more than 25 scientific journal articles in international peer-reviewed journals. Also shared study findings of different studies in many different international scientific conferences.
