Dr. Sabbir Ahmed
Deputy Director
Sabbir Ahmed is a medical doctor and a public health professional with more than 30 years of work experience in MNCH program implementation. He has completed his MBBS degree from Sher-e-Bangla Medical College, Barishal, Bangladesh. He holds a post-graduate Diploma in Public Health (DPH) from the National Institute of Preventive and Social Medicine (NIPSOM), Dhaka, Bangladesh.
He is Deputy Director of Projahnmo Research Foundation, Bangladesh. Previously he has worked with the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Bangladesh, World Health Organization, Obstetrical and Gynecological Society of Bangladesh (OGSB), Save the Children in Bangladesh. He is a member of the National Technical Working Committee on Newborn Health, Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) working group, Technical Committee of IMCI in Bangladesh. He has acquired research experience and practical knowledge primarily on newborn, child health and health systems in Bangladesh context. Dr. Ahmed’s has published more than 10 scientific articles that he had been involved, in peer-reviewed journals and presented his studies and implementation learnings in several international scientific conferences.
