Professor Chowdhury Ali Kawser Obtained MBBS from Dhaka Medical College in 1976, FCPS in Pediatrics in 1984 and PhD from Southampton University, UK in 1993.
1) Worked at IPGMR in various post from 1978 till 1990. Then again joined IPGMR (later Transformed into BSMMU) in 1995 as Associate Professor of Pediatrics. From year 2000 worked as Professor of Pediatrics and Chair of Pediatrics (from 2009 till 2017), at BSMMU
2) Act as Pro-Vice Chancellor of BSSMU during the Interim Government (November 2008 till March 2009)
3) Member of icddrb ERC – from 2009 till 2015. Was involved in the upgrading of the ERC Guideline
4) Former Chair of National Ethical Review Committee, BMRC, from 2016 – 2017. Involved in the upgrading of the Guideline NERC
5) Member of the IRB of BSMMU and BCPS at various time
6) Elected Councillor for BCPS from 1997 till 2023 with a gap between 2005 till 2007. Involved in evolution of the examination system as well as the training system for the Fellowship Program of the College. Also contributed in the development of the software for Registration for Fellowship Program as well as Question Bank and e-logbook
7) Worked as the Controller of Examinations of BCPS from 1999 till 2001
8) Executive Editor of the Bangladesh Journal of Child Health from 1985 till 1990 and then 1995 till 2004
9) One of the Member of the group that developed the Residency Program at BSMMU in 2009
10) Chair of NITAG, Bangladesh from 2019 till 2022. Developed the draft National Vaccine Deployment Plan for COVID 19 vaccination. Also developed Evidence based Recommendation for Introduction of HPV vaccine, JE vaccine and Typhoid vaccine
11) Member of the WHO TB Roadmap Working Group
12) Member of the Immunization Technical Advisory Group for the South East Asian Region (SEAR ITAG)
