A distinguished medical academic and public health leader, Prof. Rashid served as Principal of Ibrahim Medical College, Dhaka (2011-2013). With a PhD in Human Nutrition from the University of Cambridge and an MS from Columbia University, he brings decades of expertise in nutrition, and community medicine. He held key national positions including Director of the National Institute of Preventive & Social Medicine (NIPSOM) and Director of the Institute of Public Health Nutrition (IPHN), also contributed to national policy as Line Director (Nutrition) at DGHS. Prof. Rashid has extensive advisory experience for international organizations (e.g., Johns Hopkins University, CIDA) and has led editorial boards for multiple medical journals, including MMJ, JOPSOM and IMCJ In addition, he was a member of the ERC at icddr,b for 13 years and is currently the Chairperson of the IRB of IEDCR.
