Dr. Ashraful Islam is a medical doctor and a public health specialist with more than 9 years of experience in planning, evaluation, implementation, monitoring and analysis of variety of complex research studies. His area of interest are clinical trials related to pediatric respiratory diseases including pneumonia, Tuberculosis, RSV infection, asthma and COVID-19, vaccine trials and research focusing on improving maternal and child health in lower- and middle-income countries.

He is currently serving as Deputy Director and Head of Sylhet Field Operation Projahnmo Research Foundation, Bangladesh. He has worked previously as Medical Officer in Johns Hopkins University, Bangladesh, District Trainer in Institute of Child and Mother Health (IMCH), Project Director for tuberculosis control program in HEED Bangladesh.
